Apple Wood Branch Form Bowl No. 6
Hand-carved Apple Wood Branch Form Bowl No. 6. 20.5" x 10" x 4"
Large natural form wooden bowl that is all hand-carved from a solid block of Yakima Valley apple wood.
The Yakima Valley of Washington State has been called the fruit bowl of the nation. Orchardists here grow apples, pears, cherries, peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, berries and more. Yakima County is the largest county in the state for agricultural production, and agriculture is a top industry in the state.
I'm happy to live where I have access to large old fruit trees. Big trees age out of production and are replaced with new varieties. As a carver wanting to work in fruit wood, it's fortuitous for me when large apple trees are cut down and the trunk wood comes to my studio. From large tree trunks comes large wooden bowls.
Food safe finish. Hand wash, towel dry.
